Job Title: Sr. Civil Inspector

1. Basic Functions

   Perform quality activities on capital projects covering Civil / Plumbing Engineering and activities.

2. Scope:

   The incumbent will monitor and/or perform quality activities at all stages of projects. The incumbent will ensure contractor’s work is in compliance using good knowledge of Saudi Aramco engineering requirements, standards, procedures, specifications, and Schedule Q of the project contract.  The incumbent will provide training to others as and when required. Duties may require physical exertion, working outdoors, confined spaces, high elevations, and remote work locations (on and off-shore).

3. Principal Duties:
   1. Perform “Hold”, “Witness” and “Surveillance” inspections and tests of manufacturing facilities or construction sites to ensure compliance with Saudi Aramco requirements and project specifications.
   2. Inspect material and equipment as applicable to ensure compliance with Saudi Aramco requirements for proper handling, storage and protection at Saudi Aramco facilities and/or construction sites.
   3. Monitor Contractor’s Quality Systems, records and Quality Personnel for compliance with requirements.
   4. Review and evaluate Contractor’s Quality document submittals.
   5. Witness on-site and off-site material and installations tests for compliance with Saudi Aramco standards.
   6. Record legibly and accurately all controversial and no-complying construction practices, materials and equipment and report to supervisor detailed potential problems for early resolution.
   7. Write inspection reports and initiate Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), Worksheets (WSs) and Equipment Deficiency Report (EDRs) as needed.
   8. Assist in the training of other inspectors.
   9. Assist in performing Quality Audits on certain projects.
   10. Perform other miscellaneous duties as directed by the Supervisor.

4. Minimum Requirements:
   1. BS degree in Engineering plus Eight (8) years Civil and Plumbing Experience in the Construction / Petrochemical industry.

      OR

      Two (2) years industrial/technical College Diploma plus twelve (12) years Civil and Plumbing Experience in the Construction / Petrochemical industry.

      OR

      Secondary High School (Science major) eighteen (18) years Civil and Plumbing Experience in the Construction / Petrochemical Industry.

   2. Excellent knowledge of applicable international standards.
   3. Confirmed full working knowledge of quality system standards and methods (ISO 9001).
   4. Fluent command of the English language (spoken and written).
   5. Good health and in excellent physical condition.
   6. Possess a valid driver’s license.
   7. Good working knowledge of standard PC workstation usage and basic M.S. Office software applications.
   8. Quality Management work experience in civil & plumbing construction for industrial facilities (petrochemical or hydrocarbon experience is preferred).
   9. Certified as an “International Conference of Building Officials (ICBO) building/plumbing inspector” or equivalent.
   10. Confirmed working knowledge of applicable Civil/Plumbing industry standards (Uniform Building Code, Uniform Plumbing Code, American Concrete Institute, American Water Works Association).
